Cleaning star Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, garnered popularity after sharing her cleaning tips and recommendations on social media and TV. The cleaning enthusiast has managed to gain over 4.1 million followers on Instagram. Now, fans of hers have created their own social media groups dedicated to cleaning and tidying tips.

On one of these groups, with more than 100,000 members, one woman wanted to know how to “completely clean” her washing machine.

She wrote: “Best way to completely clean a washing machine?

“There’s mould in the rubber surroundings and the drawer and I’m sure the inner pipes need a good clearing but I don’t know where to start.”

Fortunately, the post was inundated with comments in minutes as other Mrs Hinch fans had a plethora of tips to offer.

Some cleaning enthusiasts recommended using natural products, while others advised buying chemical products from a supermarket.

Many Mrs Hinch fans explained how they clean all parts of the washing machine, including the drawer, drum, and rubber seal.

Sarah Bowsher wrote: “Astonish Mould and Mildew spray around the rubber then I put white vinegar in softener bit and half empty a bag of bicarbonate in the drum and wash on hot wash. Looks like new.”

Frances Humphreys commented: “Bicarbonate of soda every wash helps clean machine and clothes keep colour or whites.”

    DON’T MISS:

Some Mrs Hinch fans advised keeping the washing machine door open after every wash.

Liz Terrell said: “Run your washer empty, on the hottest wash it will do, usually 90 degrees. This will clear all the rubbish out of the pipes without using harsh chemicals. Then to keep it fresh, leave the door open when not in use if you can.”

Lisa Monks wrote: “Powder in the drum and drawer, run empty on a hot wash. This cleans all the pipes etc. Then small amount of neat bleach on mould, leave then wipe off after five minutes. Moving forward always pull drawer out and wash/dry and leave door open when not in use.”

Thelma Gravestock commented: “Same here I only use powder straight into the drum, and softener half water, leave drawer and door open after use.”

Some Mrs Hinch fans recommended more unique products, both natural and chemical.

    Kirsty Campbell wrote: “Lemons.”

Rachael Turner said: “Whitening toothpaste and toothbrush.”

    Jacquie Karma commented: “Dishwasher tablets.”

Lisa Sansom added: “Two dishwasher tablets in the drum on a 90 wash once a month.”
