Madonna dons trench coat and Louboutins to shoot MTV VMAs promo in Times Square

Seven-time Grammy winner Madonna donned a classic trench coat and sky-high Louboutin heels to shoot a promo in Manhattan’s Times Square on Tuesday morning at 3am EST.

The 63-year-old Queen of Pop’s three-hour shoot was for the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards, which air September 12 – according to TMZ.

Madonna wore several necklaces and rings, fishnet gloves, fishnet stockings, and clutched a pair of cat-eye sunglasses selected by stylist Arianne Phillips.

The self-made superstar – who’s won 20 Moon Man trophies – also rocked a shoulder-length lace-front platinum-blonde wig coiffed by hairstylist Andy Lecompte.

Madge (last name Ciccone) was filmed exiting an eighties retro taxi cab, throwing cash at the driver, and strutting around the streets as it rained on and off.

Before the shoot, the Material Girl glammed up in the comfort of her $32.5M Upper West Side abode (three Georgian townhouses) where a cute picture of her 24-year-old daughter Lourdes hung.

Madonna – who boasts 44.2M social media followers – flaunted her cleavage in the cut-out bra she wore beneath the trench coat via Instastory.

It’s hard to believe it’s been 37 years since the twice-divorced mother-of-six made her live TV debut performing Like a Virgin during the inaugural MTV VMAs ceremony.

‘I was standing on top of a [17ft] wedding cake – as one does,’ Madonna recalled on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2012.

‘And I walked down these steps which were the tiers of a wedding cake, and I lost my white stiletto. I thought, “Oh my God! How am I going to get that? It’s over there and I’m on TV.”

‘So I thought, “Well, I’ll just pretend I meant to do this.” And I dove on the floor and I rolled around. And, as I reached for the shoe, the dress went up. And the underpants were showing.’

The Raising Malawi co-founder has been hard at work co-writing the script of her self-directed Universal Pictures biopic with Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody.

Madonna also recently completed a documentary for her 75-date Madame X Tour, which is said to be for a Netflix special or Blu-ray release.
