Images on social media showed a huge queue of people coming out of an easy jet plane on the runway.
A witness tweeted: “Partial evacuation at @manairport T1. Gates 1-10.”
It is not yet known why there was an evacuation.
It comes after the airport saw chaos last week when an elderly passenger fainted as huge queues formed.
Ian McCarter shared images with the Manchester Evening News and told them: “They were seriously short staffed and clogged up, not even checking passenger locator forms so all a bit of a shambles really!”
Another traveller tweeted the airport: “T2 dep security was pretty grim this morning .
“Very long queues , only 2 or 3 stations open because of ‘staff shortage’.
“Saw one elderly passenger faint in the queue. Not world class.”
