Mario Lopez is making 48 look like the new 38… or is it 28?

On Sunday, the Saved by The Bell alum celebrated part of his 48th birthday at a boxing gym, where he got in a rigorous workout hitting the various bags and sparring with other likeminded exercise enthusiasts.

And then afterwards, he took to Instagram and shared a short video showing himself, standing shirtless and sweaty, sharing the details of his workout, which included getting in the ring for some sparring with other wanna-be boxers.

’48-years-old today,’ the actor and television personality said while looking straight into the camera with an infectious smile on his face.

‘Feeling strong still… did  around six rounds of sparring today… with these fools,’ he added while pointing to a couple of guys stretching in a boxing ring just behind him.

‘Ready to go, ready to tackle 50. Fifth level coming up, that’s what’s up.’

He ended the post with an inspirational line or two: ‘Age ain’t nothing but a number. Let’s do this and have a great day,’ he concluded along with a fist pump into the air.

After posting the clip, he added: Celebrating another year today,’ in the caption, along with the hashtags: ‘#AgeAintNuthinButANumber #Almost5thLevel #Thankful #48’

Lopez’s wife of over eight years, Courtney Lopez, wasted little time in sharing her thoughts in the comment’s section.

‘I have the sexiest husband. Happy birthday baby. Love you more than you know,’ she gushed.

All the hard work in the gym came one day after the couple celebrated Lopez’s birthday, in part, with ringside seats to the Tyson Fury-Deaontay Wilder heavyweight championship fight on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The action-packed bout had a total of five knockdowns: Fury, the reigning WBC champion, tasted the canvas twice, while the former champ went down three times.

This was the third time the two boxers had faced off: the first fight in December 2018 resulted in a draw, and the second one in February 2020 saw Fury win the championship with a TKO win.

Before the massive men took to the ring, Lopez shared a few photos from fight night night in Las Vegas, which included partying with actor Vince Vaughn and his wife Kyla Weber.

‘Fun night with the Vaughns! #FuryWilder3 #VegasBaby,’ Lopez wrote in the caption of the snap taken at their seats near the ring.

The couple also snuggled up for a photo of just the two of them: ”Drinks are flowing in Las Vegas for Fight Night! #FuryWilder3 #HeavyweightChampionshipOfTheWorld,’ he pronounced in the caption.

Lopez’s love of boxing has several layers, but it all begins with a connection to his family since he was a child.

‘I grew up watching boxing with my dad and grandfather. There’s a lot of Latinos in the sport, and Mexican specifically, so it was one of the few places I saw my heritage represented at such a high level,’ he shared with ESPN in 2015.

‘I love everything about boxing. It’s the purest form of sport. Man on man, no one to rely on but yourself. If you win, it’s because of you. You get all the glory. There’s nothing else like it. Whether it’s the Super Bowl or the NBA Finals, nothing compares to the energy and the electricity of a championship fight.’
