Married at First Sight star Georgia Fairweather reveals plans to depart for Dubai as her family sells the stunning Brisbane CBD penthouse she’s called home for five years

Georgia Fairweather is leaving her cosy multimillion dollar Brisbane CBD penthouse behind as she plans to move to Dubai for work.

The 26-year-old Married at First Sight star has called the luxurious unit home since 2016, but it’s now being sold by her parents as the family prepares to leave and take separate journeys.

‘I am going back overseas in October for work and that’s my plan and so is my mum, so they are going to sell,’ Georgia said in an interview with the Courier Mail.

The former reality TV star, who owns a cryptocurrency technology business, explained that her parents are also moving overseas while her brother has found a place of his own.

‘I’ve actually loved living there and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else in Brisbane,’ she said.

The ninth-floor apartment features three bedrooms, three bathrooms and three carparks.

It also has a vast balcony with 270-degree views of the city skyline and Brisbane River and sits ideally near the centre of the city.

The 229 Queen Street building that houses the apartment is heritage-listed and was originally used as a base for US General Douglas MacArthur when he was the commander-in-chief of the Allied forces in the South Pacific during World War II.

Place New Farm agent Aaron Woolard says the abode has already garnered a lot of interest from ‘buyers from local and interstate and some overseas’.

Georgia, who appeared in the latest season of Married at First Sight and was paired with Liam Cooper, revealed that, unlike her co-stars, she was easily able to avoid the paparazzi after the series wrapped thanks to the location and security of her home.

‘A few of them had problems with paps like some had them turning up at their house and I think I never had any problem with paps because the building is so secure.’
