MasterChef fans' fear for Shannon Bennett as he fails to appear as a guest on the show

MasterChef fans have expressed their concern for celebrity chef Shannon Bennett after he has failed to appear as a guest on the current season of the show.

The head chef of restaurant Vue de monde, 45, has made many appearances on the popular cooking show in the past.

‘I miss Shannon Bennett. Why do they no longer invite Shannon as a guest in the new seasons?’ one viewer asked on Facebook.

‘Good question, I miss him, too,’ another person agreed.

‘They’re probably trying to introduce new people who are just as good but haven’t had the exposure,’ one suggested.

‘I loved Shannon on the show. Perfect mentor and great personality,’ another person agreed.

Shannon has made several appearances on past seasons of MasterChef Australia.

In 2018, a number of former employees alleged Bennett’s Melbourne restaurant Vue de monde had overworked and underpaid them during their time at the venue, the ABC reported.

The Vue Group strongly denied the allegations though it later announced it would ‘move away’ from annualised salaries.

That same year, Shannon announced his split from Madeleine West after 13 years of dating.

The former couple, who never married, share six children: Phoenix, Hendrix, Xascha, Xanthe, Xahlia and Margaux.

Despite their break-up, the pair relocated with their kids to Byron Bay in 2019 after selling their marital home in Toorak, Melbourne, for $16million.
