Matt Damon is every bit the cool dad as he treats his three daughters to night out at Harry Styles concert in New York

He has starred in the highly-popular The Bourne Identity series of films since 2002.

And Matt Damon’s latest mission was taking his kids to a pop concert.

The 50-year-old action star took his three daughters – Isabella, 15, Gia, 13, and Stella, 10 – to the Harry Styles concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday night.

Despite his tough guy persona on the big screen, Matt seemed pretty excited to take his children to see the 27-year-old British singer and songwriter as he sported a big smile on his face while walking up to the world famous arena.

He sported a black short-sleeved button-down top over a plain white T-shirt with skinny dark grey jeans, black leather shoes, and a black baseball cap.

Not seen on the outing was Matt’s wife of 16 years, Luciana Barrroso, who is also mother to all three girls.

One very interesting thing to note is a friend who accompanied his daughters sported a blue Saquon Barkley jersey from the New York Giants as Damon is famously a New England Patriots fan. The Giants have defeated the Patriots in two Super Bowls in 2007 and 2011.

The outing comes just two months after Damon was embroiled in plenty of controversy as he told The Sunday Times he was using the homophobic slur f****t until ‘just a few months ago’ – when one of his daughters was forced to tell him it was wrong.

The Bourne star has since clarified that he has never used the slur towards anyone in a demeaning way, but GLAAD has insisted the word should be removed from everyone’s vocabulary completely.

The non-profit said in a statement shared with TMZ, ‘The conversations that have arisen after Matt Damon’s original interview and subsequent remarks today are an important reminder that this word, or any word that aims to disparage and disrespect LGBTQ people, has no place in mainstream media, social media, classrooms, workplaces, and beyond.’

They add, ‘There needs to be accountability at a time when anti-LGBTQ slurs remain rampant today and can fuel discrimination and stereotypes, especially when used by those outside of the community to defame or describe LGBTQ people.’

Before that, Damon insisted that he stands with the LGBTQ community after sparking furious backlash when he told the publication about a conversation with one of his three daughters.

‘The word that my daughter calls the ‘f-slur for a homosexual’ was commonly used when I was a kid, with a different application,’ he said.

‘I made a joke, months ago, and got a treatise from my daughter. She left the table. I said, ‘Come on, that’s a joke! I say it in the movie Stuck on You!’

‘She went to her room and wrote a very long, beautiful treatise on how that word is dangerous.

    ‘I said, ‘I retire the f-slur!’ I understood.’

Damon has since issued a clarification. ‘I have never called anyone ‘f****t’ in my personal life and this conversation with my daughter was not a personal awakening,’ he told The Hollywood Reporter. I do not use slurs of any kind.’

Uh oh: The outing comes just two months after Damon (seen in Italy last month) was embroiled in plenty of controversy as he told The Sunday Times he was using the homophobic slur f****t until'just a few months ago' - when one of his daughters was forced to tell him it was wrong
