    Matty ‘J’ Johnson has shut down rumours he is ‘The Professor’ on The Masked Singer. 

    The former Bachelor addressed the speculation after he was messaged by fans of the Ten series following Monday night’s premiere episode.

    ‘A lot of people messaging me this morning and last night about The Masked Singer,’ the 34-year-old said.

    ‘There’s a contestant called The Professor and, unfortunately, it’s not me,’ he continued. ‘As much as I’d like it to be me, it’s not.’          

    After struggling to pronounce the ‘masked’ in masked singer, Matt played a clip from the show last night where The Professor sings a rendition of Dumb Things by Paul Kelly. 

    Matt then recorded himself singing the song to compare his voice to The Professor.

    ‘You be the judge…’ the reality TV star wrote in the caption of the clip.

    Once he completed the verse, Matt noticed the similarities in the voices and joked, ‘Actually it could be me!’

    He then shared a screenshot of a message from a follower who cheekily criticised his singing abilities and made the suggestion that he’d be better suited to SAS Australia, which also premiered last night.

    ‘Harsh but fair…’ Matt responded. 

    The debut of The Masked Singer’s third season premiered on Monday night. 

    English actor and former footballer Vinnie Jones was the first celebrity revealed in the opening episode, hiding under The Volcano mask. 

    The Masked Singer continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel 10.
