Millie Court shares candid before and after photos from her acne journey

    Millie Court has opened up to her followers about her ‘acne journey’ as she shared photos from throughout the process to her Instagram Story on Wednesday.

    The Love Island winner, 24, shared images from when she was at her ‘lowest’ when her face was covered in acne spots, which she says was largely down to her choice of contraception.

    During the candid discussion with her followers, Millie admitted it was the ‘most insecure she has ever felt’, but now wants to help anyone who may be struggling with their skin.

    Revealing her worry over posting the images, Millie said: ‘This feels mad to post up for you all to see me when I was at my lowest, and feel the most insecure I’ve ever felt.

    ‘But if I can help people who feel like I did then that means more to me than anything.’ 

    During the videos, Millie told her followers that she recommended microneedling as a way of removing scarring to the face.

    She shared a picture of what she looked like before receiving the treatment, when she had been left with ‘red and purple marks’ across her cheeks.

    Millie, who is in a relationship with Love Island co-star Liam Reardon, also shared pictures of when her acne was at its ‘worst’ and what her face looked like when she covered the blemishes with make-up.

    Revealing she first started suffering from the skin condition 18 months ago, more tha a year before she entered the Love Island villa, Millie said:  

    ‘I started getting acne about a year and a half ago, I couldn’t figure it out, when I  went to the dermatologist, she helped me realise it was down to my implant.

    ‘I didn’t put two and two together and this is kind of what brought it on, they got me off it straight away and they looked deeper into it.

    ‘I am really bad at picking my skin,obviouly picking it you’re spreading it across your face. The main thing I would say is only squeeze when they have a yellow head and use gloves or a tissue.

    ‘I didn’t go on roaccutane because I was scared of the side effects, it can be helpful. My dermotologist put me on different antibiotics.

    Millie said that her journey included a mix of using a new skincare routine, tablets and then ultimately undergoing microneedling to help scarrings.

    ‘It’s a natural remedy and isn’t harmful to your body, it works from the inside out.’

    Millie said that her journey included a mix of using  a new skincare routine, tablets and then ultimately undergoing microneedling to help scarrings. 

    Microneedling a cosmetic procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles, which encourages the skin to grow a fresh layer.

    Millie shared a snap after one of her sessions and revealed that the ‘redness’ on her face usually goes down after 24 hours. 

    She went on to explain how she ‘sacraficed’ things to fund the process through private healthcare, but said that it is also available through the NHS.
