Cleaning star Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, became famous after sharing her cleaning tips and hacks on social media and TV. The cleaning enthusiast has managed to gain an impressive 4.1 million followers on Instagram. Fans of hers were so enamoured by her cleaning tips, they decided to create their own social media groups dedicated to sharing cleaning and tidying hacks.
On one of the groups, a Facebook user asked how to remove a tomato soup stain from her carpet.
Social media user Katy Parsons asked: “Someone please help me! Or do I need a miracle?
“A full bowl of tomato and basil soup on a nearly brand new cream carpet, at my rented flat, less than a month before I’m due to move out… any ideas?”
The post garnered almost 100 comments from Mrs Hinch fans.
The most common suggestion was to use Dr Beckmann carpet stain remover.

“He did the same on the hall carpet when it was brand new and you’d never know. Hope you get it out.”
Elizabeth Kate suggested: “Another vouch for Dr Beckmann!
“My daughter was sick on our light carpet and I actually covered it with a rug for ages because I couldn’t lift the stain after trying about a dozen other products/methods.
“About six months later I used Dr Beckmann and now you would never even know there was ever a stain there. Brilliant stuff.”

Emma Brett commented: “Try some washing powder in hot water and rub with a cloth.
“I use that to get most things out of my carpets.”
Becky Taylor replied: “If you have any Elbow Grease spray, spray on and wipe over with a cloth that’s in soapy water.
“My darling daughter got spag bol and blueberries on my carpet yesterday and I did the above. Worked a treat.”
Sammi Georgina said: “Cold salty water first then dab away and anything left over try some carpet foam cleaner.”
Gail Jackson Roach commented on the post: “Spray pure peroxide on it.
“May take several applications. It will not bleach the carpet.
“Otherwise professional shampoo-ing with a stain pretreat.”
Carol Ann Campbell replied: “Try shaving foam it’s good at removing stains.”
