    A mother who was told she would never walk again after being paralyzed in an ATV accident has defied all odds by walking down the aisle on her wedding day.   

    With the help of a walker, Brittney Bedwell, 26, from Indiana, was able to have her father escort her down her aisle on Saturday when she wed her now-husband, Glen, in front of their family and friends. 

    ‘It was really important to me because I got to watch my sisters walk down the aisle with [our dad], and I knew I wanted to do that, so I had to push myself even harder,’ she told WISH.

    The heartwarming moment was one she was told would never happen after a devastating accident changed her life forever. 

    Four years ago, Brittany and her young son were in an ATV crash that left her paralyzed. Thankfully, her son wasn’t hurt, but she sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized for months. 

    It was an uphill battle for the mom, who underwent multiple surgeries and battled a serious infection. 

    ‘A doctor told me that I was never going to walk again, and I didn’t want to believe that, and I did for a while and I had depression and anxiety,’ she said.

    ‘But once I got over that, I just woke up one day and I just like started feeling some stuff in my legs and I knew that it wasn’t over.’  

    Brittany started seeing progress in physical therapy, and her Glen proposed while she was at the hospital. 

    She was also told during her recovery that she wouldn’t be able to have kids again, but now she is four months pregnant. 

    The expectant mom credited her mental strength with helping her break these physical boundaries following her accident.

    Just days after her wedding, Brittany is ready to get back to physical therapy and get out of her wheelchair for good.

    Brittany’s sister Ashley Sieb celebrated her monumental milestone on Facebook with photos of her big day as well as a video of her walking down the aisle.

    ‘She leaves me speechless. So, I’ll just say – Brittney Bedwell inspires me to never give up. To believe in miracles. To stay strong. To defy the odds. To love deeply and freely,’ she wrote. ‘Happy wedding day, baby sister. You are STUNNING and STRONG!’
