Nick Cannon says Kim Kardashian broke his heart lying about sex tape, claims Ray J warned him

Years before he became a father of seven with four different women, he dated Kim Kardashian. 

And now Nick Cannon has revealed that her sex tape with Ray J spelled out the beginning of the end for their ‘serious’ relationship.

The 40-year-old star recently appeared on the Drink Champs podcast as he revealed that his ex Kardashian lied about her 2007 sex tape with Ray J while they were dating.

Cannon – who dated Kim from 2006 to 2007 –  said: ‘I remember I was really in to her… We was on some serious s***! She broke my heart. Then, it started being these rumors going around that it was this tape. When I asked her about it, she denied it.’

The Masked Singer host even went on to claim that Ray J, now 40, even warned him at the time.

Cannon explained: ‘I saw Ray J [out on Rodeo Drive]… I was holding [Kim’s] hand and, literally from across the street, he was like “You ain’t gonna wanna keep holding her hand soon, watch!” And I’m thinking he’s just hating! 

Cannon (seen in February 2020) – who dated Kim from 2006 to 2007 – said: ‘I remember I was really in to her… We was on some serious s***! She broke my heart. Then, it started being these rumors going around that it was this tape. When I asked her about it, she denied it’

‘And I’m like wondering why he said that, and then there started to be these little rumors around that there was this tape… I think he was warning [me]’

He went on to recall their relationship which happened after Kim dated Ray J but before the sex tape was leaked in 2007.

Cannon said: ‘People didn’t know, they were like “who’s that chick with Nick? She’s bad.”  

The comedian (pictured with Kim in October 2006) said that his publicist ultimately told him to pull the plug on the relationship as he said: ‘I just knew at that time, all my team was like, “Abort mission”‘ 

‘And then a year later probably when the tape came out, I believe the tape was made prior to me in my mind because it looks like to people I was with her first and then a year later or whatever the tape came out. But I think that tape was an older tape, but it looks to the public it was Nick and then it was the tape. I believe Ray J knew her before I did.’

Cannon and Kardashians relationship ended  around that time as the sex tape caused tension in their relationship.

Wack — who’s full name is Cash Jones — revealed on a podcast last week that he had ‘more graphic’ footage of the exes together, which he was willing to release to Ray or Kim’s estranged husband, Kanye West. 

‘This ain’t cool – I been staying off the Raydar – Just staying focused and being humble and thankful for all the blessings I’m receiving,’ Ray responded on Instagram. ‘How can I show growth and maturity if this kinda of stuff keeps happening?’

He added: ‘I’m a father now and my job is to be a great parent and put them first. This is not the message I want to send out – smh.’

The previous week, Kim’s lawyer, Marty Singer denied the existence of an unreleased sex tape to follow up the first film which made her a household name. 

‘The claim that there is an unreleased sex tape is unequivocally false,’ he told TMZ. ‘It is unfortunate that people make these statements to try and get their 15 minutes of fame.’

Ray J’s former manager claimed to have an unreleased second part of Kim’s tape during a recent appearance on the Bootleg Kev podcast.

Wack claimed to have ‘part two on a laptop’ that was ‘more graphic and better than the first one’ and said he would only give the never-before-seen video to her estranged husband Kanye West.   

‘It’s the mother of his children,’ he explained.

Kim filmed a sex tape in 2002 with her then-boyfriend Ray J, which was released into the public domain in 2007, just as Kim and her family were getting ready to launch the first series of their E! reality show.

Kim famously spoke about the tape during an early episode of the series when her sister Kourtney Kardashian asked her why she agreed to film the video, and she said: ‘Because I was horny and I felt like it.’

Recently the reality star admitted discussing the tape in the first season of the show helped her ‘deal’ with her emotions.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the reality star admitted talking about difficult events on the show helped her process events in her life. 

‘I do think that, obviously, as producers, I’m sure they loved it. And loved [us] wanting to talk about the elephant in the room. And I probably wouldn’t have, unless it was for the show.

‘Sometimes I feel like, “OK, I know I should probably deal and get this over with. Someone’s gonna ask me, so I might as well just go ahead and do it.”

‘In a way, filming has helped us deal with things, instead of sweeping them under the rug. At the end of the day, I was always open and honest and wanted to share whatever I was going through. I wasn’t gonna hold back.’
