Tennis bad boy Nick Kyrgios responds to Ben Fordham after the radio star called him ‘tool’ who urgently ‘needs a psychiatrist and some medication’

They’ve teamed up for the latest season of Australian Ninja Warrior, but Ben Fordham hasn’t always been a fan of Nick Kyrgios.

In an interview with news.com.au on Monday, Nick was told about comments the 44-year-old radio host had made about him in the past.

Ben previously referred to the 26-year-old tennis champ as ‘a tool’ who needs to see a mental health physician, but has backflipped on his comments since working with him.

Nick admitted he was shocked by Ben’s past comments, but said there was no bad blood between them now.

‘Well, when I got there he was pretty nice. He asked for a photo with his family, so I didn’t really feel that at all,’ he said.

‘When I was there he was actually a lot of fun to be honest. I didn’t feel any tension at all… he was really nice to me actually.’

Nick added that he was ‘not too fussed’ about Ben’s comments, and confessed his opinions of some people had changed after he got to know them, too.

Meanwhile, in a statement to news.com.au, Ben admitted he’d changed his mind about Nick after working alongside him.

‘I think a lot of people have changed their mind on Nick and I’m certainly one of them,’ he told the publication.

‘He was a pleasure to work with and I hope we get to collaborate in the future. Does he need a ball boy to travel with him while he’s on tour?’

Back in August 2019, Ben infamously slammed Nick on his 2GB radio show after the athlete lashed out at an umpire during a heated tennis match.

Nick branded umpire Fergus Murphy a ‘f**king tool’ and ranted: ‘Why do I have to put up with this potato in the chair?’

Angry:'Nick, we know who the tool is. It's you,' Ben said at the time.'This bloke is dead set heading towards straight jacket territory. He needs a psychologist, a psychiatrist and some medication'
