Former Neighbours star Nicola Charles has dropped another bombshell allegation about her time on the iconic soap.
The actress, 51, has claimed she once came to the aid of a female co-star who overdosed on speed, before being offered the drug herself, in her autobiography Soap Star.
Nicola, who played Sarah Beaumont in the long-running soap, wrote that she once found an unnamed co-star ‘barely conscious and struggling’ in the green room after apparently ingesting amphetamines.

‘The human inside me couldn’t leave her there alone on the couch, barely conscious and struggling. Her so-called friends on the cast had conveniently disappeared and washed their hands of the situation,’ wrote the British born star, who now resides in Melbourne.
‘As I sat holding the frail and boney hand of an actress on the green room couch, waiting for the ambulance to arrive, I couldn’t help but have sympathy for her,’ Nicola continued.
‘The paramedics arrived and took her away. But the saddest part of the whole event was the very next day.’

The model then alleged she was herself offered drugs by the very woman she had previously helped.
Charles wrote that she encountered the woman in the toilets the very next day.
‘Maybe what she said next was a nod to the help I had given her the previous day, maybe it was the offering of a secret she felt she held to help me keep my weight down, or maybe it was my only chance to be indoctrinated into the secret actress club, but she offered me speed,’ claimed the author.
‘As she did a trickle of blood fell from one of her nostrils. As she scrambled to hide it, I declined politely.’
Nicola claimed the purported events took place in the late 1990s. Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Channel 10 for comment.
The soap actress appeared on Neighbours on and off between 1996 and 2016.

It’s not the first time the mother-of-three has slammed her former workplace, following comments made in April.
Charles levelled explosive allegations against her former castmates, after claiming they once tried to get her kicked out from Australia.
The star alleges that before trying to get her deported, the cast also openly victimised her for being a former model, rather than a serious actor.

‘They would say under their breath, ‘f***ing MTA’ behind my back and as I walked past after scenes,’ she told News Corp.
‘For a long time I didn’t know what ‘MTA’ meant … finally I found out it was ‘model turned actor’.
‘That’s when I started thinking, ‘OK, they don’t see me a real actor even though I did go to drama school in the UK,’ she continued.
Nicola has also alleged that her Neighbours castmates tried to get her deported from Australia.

Nicola claims in her autobiography Soap Star, available now, that she found a handwritten letter sent to the immigration department shortly after her six-month probation ended in 1996.
While she didn’t identify the cast members in question, Nicola was stunned anybody would go to such lengths to make her lose her job.
‘I did know who they were, the individuals who did it, but I thought – who goes to that length, and what have I done to be disliked that much?’ she wrote, in an excerpt published by the Herald Sun in April.
