Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive Oprah interview was met with boos when a clip was aired at Thursday’s National Television Awards.
After Sir Trevor McDonald introduced the collection of the year’s most iconic TV moments, a montage aired with scenes from the Royals’ interviews included at the ceremony which was held at London’s 02 Arena.
While the booing did not appear on-screen for the live telecast, attendees revealed to MailOnline that the audience ‘loudly’ jeered and booed once the duo appeared on-screen in the infamous interview.
During an explosive chat with Oprah in March, Meghan claimed her sister-in-law Kate Middleton made her cry before she married, said there was ‘concern’ over Archie’s skin colour from members of the royal family and that she was ‘silenced’ by The Firm.
