Olivia Attwood urges women not to have cosmetic surgery because it's 'trendy'

Olivia Attwood has spoken candidly about her experiences with plastic surgery while celebrating the launch of her second ISAWITFIRST collection.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, the former Love Island star, 30, urged women considering cosmetic surgery to ‘make sure you’re doing it for yourself, not because that’s what’s trendy’.

Using herself as an example, the blonde beauty said: ‘When I had the big boobs – the first boob job – that was the fashion. Everyone wanted those sort of like Katie Price, Jodie Marsh boobs – and then the fashion changed, and I felt uncomfortable.’

Olivia, who had her breast implants replaced with smaller ones in 2019, went on: ‘It’s the same with the lips, when lip fillers burst onto the scenes a couple of years ago, everyone wanted them as big as possible, and now the natural look is definitely making a comeback.’

She wisely concluded: ‘I think what I’ve learned – and a lot of people have learned – is that with our bodies, we’ve got to be so careful not to follow fashion.’

Olivia – who currently stars in her own reality series on ITV, Olivia Meets Her Match – finished in third place on the 2017 series of Love Island, and revealed she’s excited to tune into the much-anticipated seventh series this month.

‘I’m definitely going to watch, I watch every year,’ the blonde beauty gushed, adding that her fiancé – footballer Bradley Dack – is also a fan of the show.

    ‘Brad loves it,’ she quipped.

However, Olivia’s husband-to-be didn’t tune into the series that made her a household name four years ago.

When asked whether he watched her stint in the villa, Olivia responded: ‘No. He said that he attempted to, he said he got like two episodes in then was like, “nah”.’

As for advice she’d give this year’s contestants? ‘Be yourself, try and enjoy it,’ says Olivia.

‘In there it’s really easy to get caught up in the moment and the games and the challenges, but it is so much fun and it goes so quickly.’

She added: ‘Try and go in with no expectations. I think that’s the hard thing with this series now, we had very little expectations, but I think now there are a lot of expectations. You just have to go in [and be] happy to accept however it goes.’

Back in February, Olivia revealed her and Bradley’s wedding is ‘on pause’ amid Britain’s ongoing coronavirus restrictions.

‘It’s booked for 2022,’ Olivia clarified, on Monday adding: ‘Obviously we’re disappointed, but it’s been such a crazy sixth months. I’m glad we made that call and we can just look forward to it next year.’

It certainly has been a hectic year so far for Olivia, as viewers of her hit show, Olivia Meets Her Match, will know.

Not only did she and her partner move into a new home (which is still undergoing renovations) but they also welcomed rescue pup Lola into the family, and athlete Bradley suffered a knee injury in March.

But chaos aside, Olivia insists she’s having the best time working on the show.

‘It’s going really well,’ she began. ‘This series has been so crazy for us. We moved, we got Lola, then Brad got injured again, so it’s definitely been full on.’

She continued: ‘It’s been a challenge at times to kind of fit everything in, but I’m really happy with how the show’s come together and I feel like the feedback from the viewers is really positive. I’m really happy with it.’

When asked whether she thinks any of her former The Only Way Is Essex co-stars might feel a little jealous that she’s now starring in a reality show of her very own, the star insisted they’ve been supportive.

‘On the whole, most of them – the ones I’m close to – have been so supportive and [are] always retweeting, talking about the show and messaging me and it’s really, really nice to see.’

Olivia then quipped: A few of them weren’t a fan of me no matter what I was doing.’

Asked where she sees herself in five years’ time, Olivia joked: ‘I’d like to have finished renovating this house.’

On a more serious note, she added: ‘I would hope that Olivia’s Met Her Match is still going and it’s become a staple series that’s reoccurring and grown into its own.

‘I’d love to do more around ADHD awareness and work with charities on that front, and the same with The Pact Project with rescue dogs.’
