    Olympic BMX gold medallist Logan Martin gets a hero’s welcome as he reunites with his pregnant wife and son Noah in Queensland – after making history at the Tokyo 2020 Games

    He made history as the first ever gold medallist in freestyle BMX after the sport made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

    So it’s no surprise that Logan Martin received a hero’s welcome from his family in Queensland on Wednesday, after spending weeks apart while he was overseas.

    The 27-year-old athlete looked elated to be back in the arms of his pregnant wife Kimberly and their gorgeous two-year-old son Noah, as the trio enjoyed a special moment of celebration in the Gold Coast.

    The loved-up couple, whose second child is due in January, shared a passionate embrace before proudly posing with his gold medal.

    Kimberly and Noah had written an adorable sign to mark Logan’s return, which read: ‘Our champ comes home today. We call him daddy.’

    Little Noah was seen cycling a three-wheeled bike in front of the couple in their sweet reunion photos as the family basked in the glory of Logan’s epic win.

    One night earlier, Kimberly – who married Logan in November 2019 – headed to the airport with Noah to wait at the gates for his arrival.

    ‘Waiting for daddy,’ she captioned one image, which showed the young tot staring out at the planes in anticipation.

    Logan then shared a video of the moment he finally reunited with his wife and son, grabbing his little one in his arms before sharing a kiss with his partner.

    Logan triumphed in the first-ever BMX freestyle competition at Ariake Sports Park to claim Australia’s 13th gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

    He wowed viewers with a stunning no-handed front flip in the first run earning him an winning score of 93.30, and making history as the first ever gold medallist as the sport made its debut.

    The rider later told reporters that he hoped the achievement would put him on-side with the neighbours back home, who were not pleased he built a backyard skate-park to practice his sport.

    And following his words about his positive reception from his neighbours, it appears he’s most definitely achieved this. 

    After learning of her husband’s victory, Kim spoke to Karl Stefanovic on the Today show about how incredible it was to see her husband land the gold.

    ‘I think everyone here was just crying and cheering. It was a moment that will never been forgotten,’ she said.
