Oscar Isaac officially announced to play Moon Knight in upcoming Disney+ series about the Marvel superhero
Oscar Isaac has been unveiled as the actor portraying Marvel superhero Moon Knight in an upcoming Disney+ series about the mercenary.
After months of speculation, Marvel announced the big news on Twitter with a photo of the actor flashing an ominous expression before a collage of Moon Knight artwork.
For months, Isaac, 42, was at the center of reports claiming he would be the one portraying the super hero in the upcoming series.

Back in October, Deadline reported the actor was in talks to star in the series, which is being developed by the creator of The Umbrella Academy, Jeremy Slater.
Moon Knight follows mercenary MarcSpector, who has a number of alter egos, including a taxi driver named Jake Lockley and millionaire Steven Grant.
A conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, the Batman-esque vigilante uses his vast resources and superpowers to fight the criminal underworld.
The streaming platform is preparing to release several series adaptations of the wildly successful MCU film franchise, including Loki and Hawkeye. It has already debuted WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Moon Knight will be one of several new characters launching in the MCU with their own Disney+ series, including Ms. Marvel (starring Iman Vellani) and She-Hulk (with Tatiana Maslany).
The show was first announced by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige during the D23 Expo back in August of 2019.
Shia LaBeouf was rumored to be in talks for the titular role back in May, with Oliver Jackson-Cohen also a fan favorite choice for the character.

Despite the pandemic, the actor has been as in-demand as ever.
In addition to Moon Knight, he will be starring in Metal Gear Solid, Armageddon Time and the star-studded film about the making of The Godfather, Francis and The Godfather.
Isaac will be playing director Francis Ford Coppola while Jake Gyllenhaal will be portraying producer Robert Evans.
