Paris Hilton waxed poetic on her longtime friend Britney Spears for Time Magazine’s profile of the popstar as part of their annual list of the world’s 100 most influential people, which was released on Wednesday.

Hilton praised Britney’s sweet soul in the face of adversity from the ‘unforgiving and cruel’ media apparatus to her ‘pain’ suffered under the longtime conservatorship that Spears has fought hard to end this year.

Britney is among the 100 stars, politicians, athletes, doctors, scientists and inventors in this year’s list which sees Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the cover.

Paris and Britney used to run in the same Hollywood circle in the early aughts and were frequent club buddies at various LA hot spots.

The heiress penned a short piece on her friend noting that she has the rare opportunity to know the Toxic singer beneath her glittering on-stage persona.

‘When I think of Britney Spears, I see the sweetest soul. A mother. A friend. A fighter,’ Paris wrote. ‘A young woman who grew up in the tabloid culture of the 2000s, when the paparazzi machine was accepted, unforgiving and cruel.’

Hilton herself was likely speaking from experience as she too has been front and center over the years, with her celebrity feuds, handful of arrests and multiple engagements (and breakups) headline news.

The heiress went on to describe how Britney has ‘survived more than a decade of trauma and abuse from her conservatorship.’

Over the last year, Britney and her lawyers have fought to not only have her father Jamie removed as her conservator but to have the whole conservatorship ended.

At one point, the Circus singer herself made a public plea in court describing the ‘abuse’ she claims she dealt with while not being able to control her own life.

‘In 2021, the battle cries of #FreeBritney roared louder than ever from her global network of devoted fans and a concerned public,’ Paris said. ‘Our hearts broke when Britney spoke about her pain.’ Adding that ‘we stand by her and root for her as she turns pain into purpose.’

After months of a brutal back and fourth in court, earlier this month, Jamie Spears, 69, filed a motion in court to end his daughter’s conservatorship.  Sources, however, told TMZ that Jamie doesn’t believe the conservatorship will actually end.

Although Jamie’s filing requests that the conservatorship be resolved without a mental evaluation, one source said he believed Judge Brenda Penny would still require the evaluation.

They claimed that he said in private that he expected the evaluation wouldn’t be favorable to Britney and might result in the conservatorship being continued.

Meanwhile, the hitmaker revealed on social media this week that she is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari. Pal Paris Hilton, who is also engaged again, ws quick to congratulate Britney on social media.

After Britney and Sam shared their engagement news, his manager Brandon Cohen confirmed it via a statement.

‘The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them,’ He said, adding that Spears’ new ring was designed by N.Y.C. jeweler Roman Malayev.

The bespoke design features a four-carat round brilliant stone in a platinum cathedral setting, and is enhanced with a floating solitaire design and has pavé detailing on the bridge.

Britney is one of several stars to land on the Time 100 list this year. The cover – which has been dragged for being severely airbrushed – featured the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have said they are ‘humbled’ to be the cover stars in a feature penned by the founder of World Central Kitchen, chef Jose Andres.

The gushing tribute praises them for ‘giving a voice to the voiceless’ and ‘running toward the struggle’ rather than living a quiet life in their California mansion.
