‘I thought he was some weirdo!’ Partygoer develops disposable camera film to find she danced and took selfies with Paul Mescal… two months before he soared to fame on Normal People

A partygoer developed an old disposable camera only to realise she had snaps from a random night out with Paul Mescal.

Orlmae Joscon simply thought the Irish heartthrob was ‘some weirdo.’

She had absolutely no clue who the actor was – and had no idea she had snapped a photo with him on the night out.

But two months later he went on to play the male lead in cult BBC drama Normal People playing Connell Waldron.

Ormae, 24, said: ‘Just got my 2020 disposable cameras developed and found pre-famous Paul Mescal in my pics lol.

‘We spent the whole night dancing with him and just assumed he was some weirdo.’

Alongside the tweet, she posted a snap showing her and a pal posing with handsome Paul, who is throwing his hands up in the air and grinning.

She said she bumped into the then-unknown actor in February last year at The Workman’s Club in Dublin.

It was just before Covid-19 lockdown and Normal People aired in April.

Paul, 25, then became a household name in the on-screen adaptation of the Sally Rooney novel

It is the heart-wrenching love story following two mismatched Irish teenagers’ relationship throughout high school and university.

The actor plays complicated casanova Connell and stars alongside English actress Daisy Edgar-Jones who played Marianne Sheridan.

And Kate revealed: ‘I worked with his dad a few years ago and because I was dating an unemployed actor at the time we were having a chat about how difficult it is to make a go of it in acting.
