    Former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer celebrated her 49th birthday with her loved ones at home in Malibu on Wednesday, and shared a rare family photo to mark the occasion. 

    The actress, who relocated to southern California in 2014, was joined by husband Richard Merkell and their three children, Fenton, 20, Emilia, 19 and Bertie, 10, in the grounds of their coastal home. 

    Emilia’s long-term boyfriend Chazz Nittolo was also present as the family gathered for the photo in front of a Pacific Ocean backdrop.

    Captioning the image, an appreciative Patsy – whose birthday fell on May 26th – wrote: ‘So grateful. Such a wonderful birthday. Thankyou family for making it so special. Next stop dinner.’ 

    Actor Charley Palmer Rothwell, 29 – Patsy’s UK based son with former partner Alfie Rothwell – was absent from Wednesday’s celebrations. 

    The actress has enjoyed a new lease of life in the United States after moving her family to California seven years ago.
