Paul McCartney, 79, is joined by daughter Mary, 52, at premiere of documentary The Beatles: Get Back

    Paul McCartney appeared in good spirits as he attended the UK premiere of The Beatles: Get Back alongside his daughter Mary at Cineworld Empire in London on Tuesday.

    The musician, 79, cut a dapper figure for the event in a black blazer and matching trousers along with a crisp white shirt.

    Mary, 52, who is a photographer, opted for a black jumpsuit with a matching pair of boots and a red necklace.

    Styling her brunette locks into a bob, Mary was all smiles as she posed on the red carpet next to her father.

    Paul shares Mary, Stella, 50, and James, 44, with his ex wife Linda McCartney while he also adopted her daughter Heather from her first marriage.

    The rocker is also father to daughter Beatrice, 18, from his marriage to Heather Mills. 

    Also in attendance at the premiere was singer James Bay who sported a black blazer and trousers with a white T-shirt.

    Model Pattie Boyd opted for a black suit as she attended the screening alongside her husband Rod Weston.

    Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey sported a black denim coat and matching jeans as he posed on the red carpet. 

    The Beatles: Get Back is a documentary directed by Peter Jackson focusing on the recording of their penultimate studio album Let It Be.

    The film also showcases The Beatles final concert on London’s Savile Row rooftop in its entirety.

    Paul told The Sunday Times that watching the project brought back fond memories of his years in the band. 

    He said: ‘I’ll tell you what is really fabulous about it, it shows the four of us having a ball. It was so reaffirming for me. That was one of the important things about The Beatles, we could make each other laugh.’  

    Asked if watching the film changed his perception of The Beatles split in 1970, he said: ‘Really yes. And there is proof in the footage. Because I definitely bought into the dark side of The Beatles breaking up and thought, ‘God, I’m to blame.

    ‘It’s easy, when the climate is going that way, to think that. But at the back of my mind there was this idea that it wasn’t like that. I just needed to see proof.’

    John Lennon told his bandmates he was leaving the group in September 1969 which was followed by Paul announcing his debut album the following year along with a press release saying he was no longer working with the band.   

    The Beatles: Get Back will air as three separate episodes on Disney+ on November 25, 26, and 27.
