    Pete Murray reveals he is still recovering after sustaining a gruesome elbow injury during a brutal fight with tennis star Mark Philippoussis on SAS Australia


    Pete Murray sustained a gruesome injury during a brutal fight with former tennis legend Mark Philippoussis on Monday night’s SAS Australia.

    The duo, along with the other remaining 12 celebrities, were paired up by the drill instructors to fight each other in a boxing match. 

    The 51-year-old is still recovering from a dislocated elbow after landing on the ground from a hit by Philippoussis, 44, causing a medic to rush on the scene and effectively ending the singer’s time on the series.

    ‘There was absolutely nothing I could do. I was just glad I didn’t hand my number in,’ Pete told Now to love. 

    Murray was instantly rushed to hospital, begging for morphine and food as he was ‘starving’.

    He arrived to the hospital at 11pm, where he was forced to wait before three doctors pushed his elbow back into place.

    ‘I was getting angry at this stage and I said, “Listen, pardon my French, but I don’t give a f**k what you do, when I wake up I want this arm back in place so I can eat some food”,’ he recalled to the Courier Mail.

    The father-of-four confessed that he is still recovering from the injury to this day, but has looked at the ‘positive’ side to his appearance on the hit Channel Seven series.   

    ‘At the end of my time there I guess the positive thing for me was I hadn’t failed anything; so for me it was a really positive experience. I loved the show,’ he continued.

    Pete said he was calm while he competed in the course and even when he copped his brutal injury as his mindset was ‘in the zone’.
