Phoebe Burgess admits she would ‘lock herself in the pantry’ to get some alone time away from her two children during lockdown

As a single mother to two young children, sometimes Phoebe Burgess just needs a break by herself.

And in an interview with Who magazine on Tuesday, the Southern Highlands socialite revealed the clever tactic she used to get some well-deserved ‘me time’ away from Poppy, four, and Billy, two, during the Covid lockdown.

Phoebe, 32, who shares her children with ex-husband Sam Burgess, said she would lock herself in the pantry for a breather while playing hide-and-seek with her kids.

When asked about how she manages to ‘find alone time’, she said: ‘It’s just not that much of a reality for me at the moment, unless it’s bingeing You or Squid Game on Netflix at 10pm while my daughter, Poppy, snores like a freight train next to me.

‘If I lock myself in the pantry during hide-and-seek I can usually get a couple of solo minutes!’

She added that she also tried to work in more ‘mummy time’ activities she loves doing herself into the family’s day, with her current obsession being ‘scootering’.

‘We’re together, we’re outside, but we are quiet in our own little worlds on our scooters. I love anything that’s an adventure with the kids,’ she said.

She added that while she’s absolutely loves spending time with her gorgeous tots, it wasn’t the easiest ride being cooped up together at all times.

‘I wouldn’t necessarily call lockdown with two highly energetic, needy and growing children relaxing, at any point!’ she laughed.

Phoebe isn’t the only one who admitted to hiding away from her children during lockdown.
