The Pioneer Woman, 52, said she decided to lose the weight after a night of binge-snacking on salsa and chips.

‘I have a cooking show, I write cookbooks, I have a cooking website. I have a restaurant, a bakery. So you know, it just kept creeping up and in January of this year, we took my son Bryce to college,’ said the star.

‘I tell this story, but I basically hit rock bottom eating chips and salsa one night. I went a little overboard, but I thought that night, “I am going to start tomorrow,”‘ added the TV personality.

Since that fateful night nine months ago, the critically-acclaimed food blogger said she has lost close to 60 pounds and, even more importantly in her eyes, she said she feels much healthier these days than she used to.

‘The scale was sort of a gauge for me that I was heading in the right direction. And it was never about “I have to lose this amount.” It’s really about how I feel. I feel great,’ the Candy Coated Christmas actress said.

More concerned about how she feels: Drummond isn't worried about her weight as much as she is concerned with how she feels on a day to day basis.

The television discussed her weight loss techniques in a June blog post. She wrote mainly about her diet and exercise.

She ate fewer calories, even going as far as measuring her food via a digital food scale in order to determine exact amounts. The star at more protein, less sugar and completely cut alcohol out of her diet.

Ree started working out six days a week through walking and using an in-home rowing machine to get her daily dose of exercise.

The Food Network star made it clear that she did not go on a keto diet or intermittently fast. She also did not sign on with a personal trainer.

Making time for exercise: The star said she had a pattern of making up excuses so as not to exercise, but she eventually realized she had to make time for it

Drummond wrote that exercise was something she consistently avoided in the past, and she used her busy life to avoid it.

‘I’d gotten so accustomed to excusing myself from working out because of my work schedule or travel schedule … but during the past few months, I just chose to be late on a deadline or put off work until the next day so that exercise could happen. It was a simple shift in mindset, but it was important!’ she said.

The cooking guru ended her post with an inspiring conclusion teeming with humor.

‘It only took me 52 years to figure it out, but that’s okay!’ she wrote. ‘I hope this helps you, whether in big ways or small. Remember that feeling good, realistic goals, being healthy, and having fun is the way to go!’
