Pixie Lott and her fiancé Oliver Cheshire headed out for an afternoon of sightseeing at the Vatican in Rome, Italy, on Tuesday.

But the singer, 30, missed the memo when it comes to the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church’s dress code.

The Kill A Man chanteuse strutted into the historic locale unaware she’d have to cover up her very skimpy white summer dress for the outing.

She arrived in a tiny crimped mini-dress, with a strappy detailing and a very high hemline, showcasing her lithe limbs and leggy pins.

Pixie added white and silver flat sandals to the look, throwing on a quirky sun hat and vintage shades.

She wore silver earrings, matching these with her wristwatch, sure to flash her sparkling engagement ring.

Yet she was swiftly detoured to the gift shop, where she purchased a pāreu to cover up in.

The blonde starlet invested in a cream and orange sarong to disguise her flesh-flashing mini-dress due to the Vatican’s strict religious dress code.

What is the dress code in the Vatican?

There is a basic dress code that both men and women must adhere to when visiting Vatican city, particularly St. Peter’s Basilica and/or the Vatican museums (including the Sistine Chapel).

Visitors must cover their knees and upper arms, while they are prohibited from wearing shorts or skirts above the knee, sleeveless tops, and low-cut shirts.

Men must also remove their hats when entering, though women are permitted to remain wearing theirs.

Shoulders must also be covered and visitors may be turned away or advised to cover up with a shawl.

Other half Oliver, 33, had no such issue, donning a cream short-sleeved shirt with a beige detailing at the arms.

The model wore black slacks, white trainers and mirrored aviator shades.

The pair stopped and posed for selfies amid the 121 acres of diocesan enclave.

Kim Kardashian was recently at the Vatican – and also raised eyebrows with her attire.

Earlier this month, she shared an inside look at her trip with supermodel Kate Moss. The reality personality, 40, posted snaps to Instagram and addressed backlash over the sexy lace dress she wore.

Sharing a slew of behind-the-scenes snaps from her visit, Kim insisted she had ‘adhered to the dress code’ while inside St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.

In the snaps, Kim could not hide her excitement as she put on an animated display while posing during the outing and rocking her revealing off-the-shoulder lacy number.

Kim sizzled in her cut-out dress, which highlighted her trim waist and ample assets, and she styled with a pair of white sandals. The beauty ensured all eyes were on her statement ensemble as she slicked her long locks back into a chic up do.

Kim penned, alongside the images: ‘We had the most incredible experience touring Vatican City @vaticanmuseums. It was amazing to be able to view all of the iconic art, architecture and ancient Roman sculptures in person, especially Michelangelo’s works.

‘We even had an opportunity to view their private archive of robes worn by every pope in history, dating back to the 1500’s.

‘Thank you @ocspecial for arranging the visit. (Don’t worry, I adhered to the dress code and fully covered up while inside St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel).’

Kim had appeared to fail to adhere to the church’s strict rules by wearing a sexy lace dress which didn’t cover her shoulders and had cut-out sections throughout her mid-section for the visit – despite her insistence that, while inside, she had done as she was told.

Kim had been putting on a show-stopping display during her sightseeing visit to Rome at the start of July – having her very own Dolce Vita moment at the Trevi Fountain.

The back-to-back images showcased the Vatican’s stunning architecture and design, as well as several notable artifacts and items displayed around the spacious place of worship.

Kim, having Armenian roots on her father Robert’s side, highlighted a ‘gift from Armenia’ to the Vatican, which was a gold necklace and matching diamond pendant displayed behind glass.
