Prince Charles, 73, and Camilla Parker-Bowles, 74, have jetted off to the Middle East on a four-day tour after getting the go-ahead from Queen Elizabeth II, 95. The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall will visit Jordan and Egypt on a trip to strengthen bilateral relations in the region.
The couple are expected to meet with King Abdullah II, 59, and Queen Rania, 51, at Al Husseiniya Palace on the first day of engagements.
Express.co.uk revealed earlier this month, the Prince of Wales’ trip was left lying in the balance and said it could be cancelled if Her Majesty was deemed too ill to perform her duties.
The Queen last made an official engagement on October 19 and was forced to cancel others after she visited hospital for “preliminary tests”.
Her Majesty pulled out of a visit to Ulster to celebrate Northern Ireland’s centenary on October 20.

Elizabeth has only missed six other Remembrance ceremonies during her 69-year reign.
The Queen was overseas on four occasions and was pregnant with Prince Andrew and Prince Edward in 1959 and 1963.
The BBC reports the Queen will be continuing light duties from Windsor Castle.
