Rachel Platten announces the birth of her second child with husband Kevin Lazan

Rachel Platten has welcomed her second child with husband Kevin Lazan.

The singer announced the arrival of daughter Sophie Jo Lazan on her Instagram page Wednesday.

‘Introducing Sophie Jo Lazan. Born 9/9/21 at home in a water birth after 2.5 grueling days of labor,’ the artist wrote, sharing two adorable snaps of her newborn.

The Fight Song singer continued: ‘When I thought I couldn’t take anymore, this amazing, wise little one kept whispering to me “we can do this mama, we can do this”.

‘So I kept going one contraction at a time. I feel like a warrior and I will never doubt by strength again. Thank you Sophie for showing me what I am made of and for completing our family,’ Rachel said.

‘And Thank YOU all so much for your love and support and for allowing me the privacy these last couple of months to just be with my family and prepare for this new life. Sending you all the coziest new baby snuggles. please, please positive comments only.

In the second picture, Rachel was planting a smooch on her baby’s cheek.  

Rachel shared a snap of her bare baby bump one week prior to giving birth, adding the caption: ‘Still cookin’….’ 

Rachel and Kevin are parents to daughter Violet Skye, two, as well; they also just celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary in July.

Rachel and Kevin tied the knot on July 31, 2010.

Rachel became a household after her debut song Fight Song was released in February 2015.

Her follow up single Stand By You also reached platinum status, after it was released in September 2015.
