Rachel Zegler dazzles in see-through black sequin dress at CFDA fashion show in NYC

She plays the leading role of Maria in the reboot of the 1961 classic West Side Story, which is set to be released Dec. 10.

And on Wednesday, Rachel Zegler wowed in an all-black ensemble, sporting a see-through sequin skirt at the CFDA fashion awards in New York City.

The 20-year-old actress posed up a storm at the event, which took place  at the Pool and The Grill on Wednesday in NYC.

The actress and singer rocked a black cut-out body suit that showed off her back, along with a sequin dress that flowed to just above her ankle-strapped black shoes. 

Dangling diamond earrings and polished black toenails highlighted her look behind Zegler’s curly long locks. 

Upon arrival to the red carpet event, Zegler was wrapped in shimmering floor-length black cape. 

The CFDA, or Council of Fashion Designers of America, attracted prestigious stylish fashion aficionados to the Wednesday event. Designer Michael Kors, 62, escorted Zegler at the event.

The most visible celebrity award of the annual event went to Zendaya for what the CFDA called her ‘global impact on fashion.’

The Wednesday event attracted a who’s who list of visible celebrities, including designers Emily Adams Bode and Christopher John Rogers. 

Bode took top honors at the show. Others who attended included Anya Taylor-Joy, Ciara, Drew Barrymore and Emily Ratajkowski.

The Colombian American is playing Maria Vasquez in the upcoming film adaptation of West Side Story, directed by Steven Spielberg. The movie is to be released in theaters on Dec. 10. 

The up-and-coming starlet got the job of Maria after Spielberg posted a casting call on Twitter back in January 2018 when she was 16. 

She beat out tens of thousands of other applicants for the leading role from the remake of the original 1961 movie that was a breakout for actress Natalie Wood.

Zegler submitted videos of herself singing Tonight and I Feel Pretty from the movie. 

She also has joined the cast of the 2023 DC superhero film Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
