Radio hosts at war: Brendan Fevola warns rival Kyle Sandilands ‘you don’t want to get me angry’ after he called Fox FM’s breakfast show ‘terrible’

There’s a new breakfast radio war going on, this time between KIIS 106.5’s Kyle Sandilands and Brendan Fevola of Melbourne’s Fox FM.

Kyle, 50, fired the first shot on Tuesday by calling the Fifi, Fev & Nick show ‘terrible’ – prompting the former AFL star, 40, to issue a stern on-air warning.

Brendan told Kyle to ‘be careful’ what he says because he has a fierce temper.

The pair’s feud began when Kyle made a cameo appearance on The Masked Singer Australia on Sunday night.

A news website subsequently misquoted one of the show’s judges, Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes, as saying he didn’t believe Kyle actually performed on the show and instead hired a body double for the episode.

But he actually said no such thing: it was in fact Brendan who made the suggestion while interviewing Hughesy Fifi, Fev & Nick on Monday morning.

'Didn't he say he wanted to put one on Hughesy's chin back in the day? Geez, I hope he says that to me, if he says that to me, it's on. Sandilands verse Fevola,' he added

He said: ‘I reckon that it wasn’t Kyle Sandilands performing, but when he took his head off it was him! Someone else was in that suit.’

Kyle hit back at the allegation on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday, saying: ‘It was definitely me [during the performance]. There was no stand-in.’

He went on to sledge Fifi, Fev & Nick, calling it a ‘terrible’ breakfast radio show and saying ‘no one cares about what goes on in Melbourne’.

When told of Kyle’s remarks later on Tuesday, a fired-up Brendan said: ‘He’d want to be careful. You don’t want to get me angry, I’m a different beast to Hughesy.’

‘Didn’t he say he wanted to put one on Hughesy’s chin back in the day? Geez, I hope he says that to me, if he says that to me, it’s on. Sandilands versus Fevola,’ he added.

But Brendan didn’t stop there, telling Kyle he needed to ‘grow up’.

‘Mate, grow up. Having a crack at our show… saying it’s a horrible show. We have a great show, they [Kyle & Jackie] have a great show. I listen to their show all the time, no need to get personal,’ he said.

‘He’s a large man, I’m a large man. It’s not having a go at him, it’s the truth… he’s having a crack about our city,’ Brendan said, adding that Kyle ‘tries to put people down all the time.’

Kyle was unmasked as Rubble from Paw Patrol on Sunday’s episode of The Masked Singer, after agreeing to take part in a single episode.

'I reckon that it wasn't Kyle Sandilands performing, but when he took his head off it was him! Someone else was in that suit,' Fev said
