Red Light creators met human traffickers for Channel 4 sex worker drama 'Very disturbing'

On a somewhat lighter note, Halina also recalled the rather embarrassing occasion Carice bought her a lap dance as part of their writing process.

“We went to a strip club,” she confirmed. “Her and me, we visited a lot of strip clubs for research.”

Carice burst into laughter, and Halina joked: “We’ve gotta wrap this up, people!

“It was very awkward,” she added and buried her face in her hands. “She bought me a lap dance. But anyway…”

The creators’ risky process clearly paid off, as Red Light has been hailed as one of the most exciting TV projects to emerge from the Netherlands in recent years.

Red Light will be available to stream from Sunday, October 9 on All4.
