Romelu Lukaku urged to enact 'revenge' on Chelsea and Man Utd by signing for Arsenal

Romelu Lukaku has been urged to enact “revenge” on former clubs Chelsea and Manchester United by joining Arsenal this summer. Lukaku’s spells at both Chelsea and United were unsuccessful to say the least. The Belgian joined Chelsea in 2011 but made just 15 appearances in total for the Blues before leaving to join Everton on a permanent deal in 2014.

Lukaku had three good years at Everton before moving to United in the summer of 2017 for a fee of around £75million.

Despite scoring 27 goals in his first season at Old Trafford, the striker fell out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and was sold to Inter Milan in 2019.

Lukaku has been sensational for Inter, netting 64 goals in two seasons and leading the club to their first Serie A title in 10 years this term.

Chelsea reportedly want to re-sign the 28-year-old as Thomas Tuchel goes in search of a top striker.

Former Charlton star Darren Ambrose believes the arrival of Lukaku would be good news for the Germany international.

“I think that frees up Werner as well to go on the wing, where I think he would be better,” Ambrose said.

“I think he’s suited better to playing on the wing and setting up them chances as opposed to being in the box to finish them.”
