The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have given a string of interviews in recent months, which has seen the couple levy a number of bombshell allegations against the Royal Family. But the pair are determined to “keep the peace” with Harry’s family, and are trying their best to retain a “good relationship with the Queen”, according to an insider.

The source told US Weekly that Meghan and Harry are “not forgiven” for the incendiary claims made in their tell-all interview with Oprah and the public comments since.

They said: “It’s no secret that the last year Harry and Meghan have been at war with the royals.

“All is not forgiven, but after all the backlash regarding their interviews—which by the way, the pair have no regrets about—they’re trying their utmost to maintain a good relationship with the queen in order to keep the peace.”

It comes as Meghan and Harry chose to name their baby daughter after the Queen, naming her Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

Lilibet is an intimate family pet name used for the Queen since she was a child, as she struggled to say her full name Elizbeth.

The nickname stuck and was often used by her late husband, Prince Philip.

The source said Meghan and Harry are overjoyed by the safe arrival of their daughter, and are pleased to be starting afresh in California.

They said: “They’re so happy. This baby solidifies that they are creating roots here in the States.

“It’s like a clean slate—almost like a new beginning.”
