    Funnyman Russell Brand and his wife Laura Gallacher shared a £1.4million dividend during the pandemic, accounts for his company reveal.

    It means Russell and his wife, who tied the knot in August 2017 at an intimate service near their Henley-on-Thames home, earned £2.125 million in two years after paying out £750,000 the year before.

    He published details of the dividend payments in accounts for his company Pablo Diablo’s Legitimate Business Firm Limited for 2020.

    They show that after the payments the company still had reserves just over £2 million left in the company, down from £2.4million the year before.

    Big profits meant that the firm, which is owned equally by Russell and Laura, had a corporation tax bill of £245,000.

    The company, the nature of which is listed as video production activities and television programme production activities, which employs four staff including Russell and Laura also had a tax and social security bill of £19,205.

    Russell’s tour to Canada due to take place just as the pandemic started was postponed, but he did manage to play a number of UK gigs to socially distanced audiences in 2020 in between lockdowns.

    He also regularly posts on his YouTube channel which has almost 3.8 million subscribers which generates considerable advert income.

    Brand, who regularly talks of his wild days in his stand up routine, has settled down since marrying for the second time and having two children with blogger Laura. 

    The couple are parents to Mabel, four, and a second daughter born in July, 2018.

    Russell previously told how he has never spent 24 hours alone with their two daughters because their mother is more suited to the role.

    Speaking to the Sunday Times, he said: ‘She wouldn’t go away for 24 hours, Laura. Laura’s able to sustain and maintain domesticity in a way that’s astonishing. I didn’t have much experience of how to organise domesticity. I do whatever I’m told.

    ‘It turns out that she is extremely well versed in the nuances and complexities of child-rearing.’

    He admitted he is ‘too sensitive’ to change nappies and his ‘romantic, reflective, religious world view’ prevents him from being a full-time parent.
