Ryan Reynolds wishes Carrie Bickmore's partner a happy 40th birthday in hilarious video

Carrie Bickmore’s partner Chris Walker was unable to celebrate his milestone 40th birthday this year, amid Melbourne’s current lockdown.

So on Tuesday, The Project host, 40, decided to ‘call in the big guns’ to make sure it was one to remember – asking Hollywood superstar Ryan Reynolds to send him a special birthday message as a surprise.

Carrie shared the hilarious footage to Instagram, which showed the Deadpool actor, 44, well-wishing Chris while speaking in front of a montage of images of the couple.

‘Chris, this is Ryan Reynolds, don’t hang up,’ he began.

‘I just want to wish you a very happy birthday. Carrie didn’t even tell me it was your birthday, I just had it in the calendar. I don’t know why it was there.’

As he smiled at the camera, Ryan wittily added: ‘I want to wish you a very happy 40th, it’s a great birthday, it’s a huge milestone. Get your prostate checked, it’s going to be amazing. You’re going to have so much fun.

‘The fourth level is the best level. So, happy birthday Chris.’

Carrie and Chris share two daughters; Evie, six, and Adelaide, two.

Her son, Oliver, 13, is from her marriage to Greg Lange, who died after a lengthy battle with brain cancer in December 2010.

Speaking to Body and Soul in April last year, Carrie said she doesn’t strive for perfection as a mother before gushing about her loving family. 

‘I don’t think life is ever perfectly in balance, that’s okay,’ she began.

‘I [don’t] think we should aspire to have perfect lives – the joy is in the imperfection.’

‘Some days my home life takes more of my time and energy, so my work life takes a back seat; other weeks I have a crazy work schedule, so my house becomes a mess and we eat more takeaway,’ Carrie added.

Family: The couple share two daughters, Evie, six, and Adelaide, two. Carrie is also mother to son Oliver, 13, who she shares with late ex-husband Greg Lange
