Anne Fletcher (The Proposal) is directing Hocus Pocus 2 from a script by Jen D’Angelo, who makes her feature writing debut after writing for TV shows such as Cougar Town, Workaholics and most recently Young Rock.

Directed by Kenny Ortega and written by Neil Cuthbert and Mick Garris, the original film followed a teenage boy (Omri Katz) who accidentally resurrects an evil coven of witches in Salem on Halloween night.

Though the sisters disintegrated into dust at the end of the movie, the concluding scene hinted that they could return.

The original Hocus Pocus only earned $45.1 million worldwide but went on to become a Halloween cult classic.

The sequel was put into development back in 2019, with Adam Shankman (Rock of Ages) originally slated to direct before Anne Fletcher took the helm.
