Sean Penn masks up while stepping out for a solo dinner in Santa Monica

Sean Penn stepped out for a solo dinner in Santa Monica on Wednesday, just days after his ex Leila George filed for divorce after 15 months of marriage.

The 61-year-old actor made sure to mask up while heading to dinner at Giogio Baldi in Santa Monica.

The Oscar-winning actor kept his left hand in his pocket the whole time, so it’s unaware if he was still wearing his wedding band.

The Flag Day star stepped out wearing a light navy blue coat over a green dress shirt as he headed into the restaurant.

He was also wearing grey pants while holding a pair of glasses and wearing a mask from his Core organization that covered his mouth and nose.

Penn completed his dinner look with a pair of tan Head tennis shoes.

The outing comes less than a week after Leila George, 29, filed for divorce last Friday in Los Angeles.

No details were given for the split, though the couple had been seeing each other since 2016.

They tied the knot at their home at the height of the pandemic in July 2020 with an intimate ceremony at their home.

Penn confirmed the nuptials during a virtual interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers last summer.

‘We did a COVID wedding. By that, I mean it was a county commissioner on Zoom and we were at the house with my two children and her brother, and we did it that way,’ he said.

Still, sources told People in August 2020 that the couple had their shares of ups and downs and he had to fight to win her back.

‘They got together and then they broke up, and Sean won her back. He realized he had made a mistake and when he felt he might lose her, he worked hard to get her back.’ 

George, the daughter of Vincent D’Onofrio and Greta Scacchi, got back together with Penn during COVID-19 lockdown, and got engaged just a few months before the wedding.

Penn is currently filming his new Showtime series Gaslit, which made headlines when he demanded all cast and crew members be vaccinated.
