Selena Gomez is opening up about working with a pair of comedy legends, Steve Martin and Martin Short, in a new interview.
The 28-year-old singer and actress stars alongside Martin, 75, and Short, 71, in the upcoming Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.
She opened up about working with them in a wide-ranging interview with Vogue Australia, saying she was like a ‘sponge just soaking all of that in.

Gomez, Martin and Short play an unlikely trio of neighbors in an Upper West Side apartment building in New York.
They all learn that they’re true crime enthusiasts, and soon put their mutual obsession to the test when a death occurs in their exclusive apartment building.
They join forces and create a podcast together when they learn the killer may be living in their apartment, and try to find the killer before it’s too late.

When asked what it’s like working with the pair of comedy legends, Gomez began by saying, ‘they’re brilliant.’
‘They’re legends, and they have lived so many different lives, and it’s like I’m a sponge and I’m just soaking all of that in,’ she added.
She compared them to ‘uncles,’ with Short calling her, ‘Bubbala, like: ‘How’s my little Bubbala?’

‘They’re so quick and witty and established. I want to be where they are. I love when people challenge me, and they would tell me things I would never know. I think you’re going to see on screen how much we did love each other,’ she added.
Gomez also serves as a producer on the show, which she also did on 13 Reasons Why, and when asked what she gets out of producing, she said, ‘I get to have a say.’
‘I get to see what works and doesn’t work, and that’s exciting for me. Because I don’t know what’s going to happen when I grow up,’ she said.

‘When I’m acting – I don’t want to say this because there are multiple things I feel with all my projects – but acting to me is just my favourite. It’s really, really wonderful, and I’m very happy when I’m on set,’ Gomez added.
Only Murders In the Building was created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, also starring Amy Ryan and Aaron Dominguez, debuting on Hulu August 12.
