Stand up to this BS! Fury as word 'mother' could be replaced by 'person who's given birth'

Prominent Brexiteer Patrick O’Flynn voiced the views of many when he slammed LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall for urging organisations to adopt the stance. The charity, which advises various public bodies on equality, also suggested that Merseyside Police say “pregnant employee” because it was a “more inclusive term”.

Both revelations led to widespread revolution from many feminists over claims they demeaned the rights of women.

The row erupted as International Trade Secretary Liz Truss called on Government departments to withdraw from Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index because the membership cost was “unjustifiable”.

As the scandal snowballed, the former Ukip and later SDP MEP aired his views of the news on Twitter.

The prominent Brexiteer said: “Can the Tories be trusted to stand up to this BS? Doubtful but not quite a lost cause.

“When some people want to eradicate mothers then it’s time for a revolution.

“It’s time to totally reject all the cr*p that’s currently distracting from our real challenges…”

Another said: “I’m a mother and damn proud of it. No one will frighten me to call myself otherwise.

“By the way, I’m also a grandmother of six together with their grandfather.”

A third raged: “What’s the answer?

“We either need a section of the Tory party with the grit to stop all this sh*t, to rebel and oust Boris, or we have to vote for an alternative i.e. UKIP/Reclaim/Reform.

“But these would need to be unified to garner a large enough vote to be taken seriously.”

In a statement Stonewall said: “Since we set up the Diversity Champions programme in 2001, many large employers have developed major internal programmes to promote diversity and inclusion across their staff.”

The group added it is “confident in our advice on the Equality Act which is based on the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s Equality Act Code of Practice”.
