Stormzy is blown away when he meets his Madame Tussauds wax figure for the first time as his nephew – and mother – fail to spot the difference between the two in hilarious video

He has 31 awards, two UK number one albums, a book publishing imprint and a University of Cambridge scholarship programme to his name.

So it’s only fitting that Stormzy has been immortalised by London’s Madame Tussauds in the form of a wax figure.

In a video shared to the attraction’s Twitter page on Sunday, which is also the rapper’s 28th birthday, the Vossi Bop hitmaker brought along his young nephew for the statue’s very first reveal.

‘That’s scary cuz,’ Stormzy, who sported a casual white vest, can be heard saying in the moment when he came face-to-face with his doppleganger.

‘Oh my days,’ he added before falling into hysterics of laughter.

‘You never see yourself, that’s rahhh, that was mad.’

At another point in the sweet clip, the Croydon-born rapper’s nephew tugged on the masterpiece’s clothes, saying, ‘Uncle Junior isn’t moving. Is that Uncle Junior?’

The grime artist tiptoed his way out of a hiding place to prank the tot, who shouted, ‘Hey, you scared me!’

Showcasing his clone to his mum, Stormzy (whose real name is Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr.) fell into a fit of giggles when she questioned, ‘How did you do that?’

He went on to explain that it was a Madame Tussauds waxwork but a bad phone signal caused her to hear ‘barbecue sauce’ instead.

Stormzy said: ‘I was told Madame Tussauds London wanted to make a figure of me just after I performed at Glastonbury and it really felt like the icing on top of the cake.

‘For me to be there, it feels like, flipping heck, I’m going up in the world.’

Tim Waters, general manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: ‘Whether you admire him for his music, believe in what he stands for, or just think he’s a really nice guy, we know his figure is going to be a fantastic, and important, addition to our Madame Tussauds London line-up.’

The work of art is yet to be debuted to the public and neither have we been graced with a photo, so we will have to take Stormzy’s newphew’s word until it goes on display later this summer.
