‘A good strong cuppa and a piece of choccy cake. Happy 79th birthday. I miss you dearly,’ she added.
Megan was very close to her father and frequently shares memories of their happy times together.
In 2018, she wrote on her Instagram: ‘I’ve lit this four wick candle every year for him on this day since his passing.’
‘On days like today I remind myself how precious life is how we should never take it for granted and cherish your loved ones while you still have them.’

Megan’s father passed in 2014, the same year she gave birth to her oldest child, River Alan Thomas Hampson, who is named after her dad.
During an interview on Anh’s Brush With Fame, she said River even reminded her of her late father.
‘I just looked at him and he… he looked exactly how I thought he would. He was just the most beautiful thing,’ she told Anh.
‘He does have dad’s eyes, and it’s… Because he’s not here anymore.’
‘It’s so cool to see, like, my dad’s expression every now and then. It’s wild, it’s the best thing.’

Reflecting on her father’s passing, Megan said the two shared a tender moment before he crossed over.
‘I got home and he was so weak and I just saw him in bed, and I just went up behind him and gave him a hug and I started crying.’
She concluded: ‘He just said, ‘That’s OK, my lovely.’ He said, ‘You can cry, but, um… but not too much. Please don’t.’ And I said, ‘OK. I promise I won’t.”
