Sutton Stracke has revealed that she considered getting her attorneys involved when news of Erika Jayne’s embezzlement scandal broke – and encouraged her fellow housewives to do the same.

In a new interview with The Los Angeles Times Sutton explains how she went to the producers of the Bravo show with her concerns and they told her to gather the other reality stars to discuss the controversy between them.

Garcelle Beauvais also admits in the same interview that she became worried the other housewives ‘could be implicated’ in Jayne’s legal drama, and realized they would have to be careful as to what they said on camera about the situation.

Jayne’s estranged husband Tom Girardi has been accused of embezzling millions of dollars meant for plane crash victims, while her lavish spending of some $25million has also been called into question.

After reading the bombshell allegations, Stracke says her ‘first call was to production’ where she questioned that she may need her attorney ‘to guide us through filming.’

According to Stracke, the Bravo production team responded: ‘This is such a great question. Why don’t you get the girls together?’

Beauvais said she also became concerned and remembered saying to Stracke: ‘Oh, my God, I never thought about that. We could be implicated.’

Stracke also revealed about how they learned the importance of using the word ‘alleged’ while filming – presumably not to let themselves be liable for saying anything about Jayne and Girardi that could end in a lawsuit.

‘I am a very private person and I got freaked out,’ Stracke admitted.

Stracke – who was married to investment banker Christian Stracke from 2000 to 2016, also said in the interview: ‘I had a hard time with my ex-husband; coming from a finance place, we’re very private. And the banking industry is very private. So this is very, very foreign for me.’

However, Crystal Kung Minkoff, who was also part of the interview, said she felt oblivious to the serious nature of the drama: ‘I guess because I had seen other reality shows and there’s people who do all these crazy things, I was like: It doesn’t affect the other people.’

Stracke has been openly skeptic about Jayne’s legal drama on the show, even telling her in one episode: ‘I don’t trust that one hundred percent of what you’ve told us is the truth. How can I believe every single thing?’

But Stracke did offer to help Jayne in amid her struggles, and cleared up to the LA Times why she decided to lend her money amid the divorce.

‘I immediately felt sorry for her. Because divorce is hard and they have been married for so long,’ Stracke said.

Ultimately, Stracke said she hopes what is happening to Jayne will be a teachable moment to young women watching the show.

‘I hope there’’ a takeaway, especially for young women, or any woman getting married, [which] is: You really need to know who you’re marrying. And you really need to have the veil lifted because you can get into a situation very easily like this.’

Stracke added that she was told by her own attorney when she got a divorce, that she should have a friend who she could rely on for financial handouts, ‘because you can get off very easily.’

And another thing: Erika goes to town getting her point across, but gets angry and emotional when she realises not all of the housewives are on her side

‘And that’s what I offered to Erika. I think anybody going through a divorce needs to have a friend. If it’s just to get you through a couple of months,’ she said.

Beauvais added: ‘I think when we get married, although we love and we trust, I think women tend to, if you slide a piece of paper in front of them, we sign, right?’

‘So I think what it showed me is that we need to stop, whether it’s business, whether it’s a relationship, and really read what you’re signing.’

Viewers are hoping to get to some much-needed answers from Jayne on the hotly-anticipated reunion show – which Stracke, Beauvais, and Kung Minkoff all say is filled with drama.

‘Crystal and I have had back and hip issues afterwards,’ Stracke said, while Kung Minkoff added: ‘It was a lot. We were very close on a couch.’

Beauvais added: ‘We should have been in separate chairs.’

The teaser released yesterday saw Jayne called Stracke a ‘c**t’ in a fiery attack that left the other housewives gasping in shock.

Beauvais told the LA Times that in retrospect, she did not like the way Stracke was treated this season.

‘Oh, I didn’t like it at all and that’s my one regret, and I said that in the reunion: I wish I had stood up for her at Kathy’s dinner because that was completely out of control.’

She added: ‘Erika’s back was to me so I couldn’t see her face, but obviously I could feel her energy and it was enough. It was enough.’

Fans will have to wait until Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 8pm, for the start of this fiery four-part reunion.
