New Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson says he was blindsided by the backstabbing in the mansion – and regrets ‘giving time to certain women’

Jimmy Nicholson insists he’s met the love of his life on The Bachelor, which premieres on Channel 10 next Wednesday.

But his journey to finding Mrs Right wasn’t exactly smooth sailing.

The 31-year-old pilot told Who magazine there was a lot of backstabbing in the mansion, but he didn’t realise until much later.

Jimmy also came to regret spending time with certain contestants he later realised may not have been there for the right reasons.

‘There was a lot of drama,’ he said.

‘There was some stuff happening in the girls’ house that I had no idea about. After I found out, I questioned why I couldn’t see it, or why I chose to give my time and attention to that particular person instead of others.’

However, Jimmy clarified he ‘wasn’t blindsided by the one person I cared about’, so viewers don’t have to worry about a post-finale break-up.

He said of his winner, whose identity is a closely guarded industry secret: ‘She turned out to be exactly who I thought she was, and that’s all that matters to me.’

Jimmy said in a previous interview that his contestants were a ‘mixed bag’ and he was surprised by some of the catty behaviour.

He also admitted he ‘had no idea’ what went on behind the scenes between the women vying for his heart, until his now-girlfriend told him after the show wrapped.

‘There was a lot that I wasn’t aware of until I finished the show,’ he said.
