A first glimpse of The Great British Bake Off season 12 was revealed on Wednesday as Channel 4 released stills from the first instalment of the 2021 series, which airs on September 21.
New images show twelve contestants baking up a storm beneath the famous white tent – pitched on the grounds of Down Hall – as they take on the first of this year’s challenges.
All fighting to be crowned winner of GBBO 2021, the contestants attempt to prove they’re the best baker the nation has to offer under the watchful eyes of judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, while hosts Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding giggled away.

The series kicks off this month with Cake Week, and the newly-released stills show the star bakers trying their best to impress Paul, 55, and Prue, 81.
Clearly delighted to be back in action, Matt, 47 and Noel, 48, whip up excitement in the tent while getting to know this year’s contestants.
The bakers are first tasked with producing twelve perfect Mini Rolls, before uncovering ingredients hidden beneath a gingham cloth for the episode’s technical challenge.
They are invited to express their technical creativity by crafting cakes that defy the laws of physics.

GBBO’s 2021 line-up was unveiled on Tuesday ahead of the show’s season 12 debut on September 21 on Channel 4 at 8PM.
Fans have been chomping at the bit to find out who will be competing in the tent this year, as teasers began dropping last week on TV and social media.
And more than half of the new line-up is inspired by its contestants’ foreign heritage – with a diverse mixture of cultures being brought to the tent, promising some exciting bakes to come.
