Her advice and hacks inspired her fans to create similar groups on Facebook.

On one such social media group, a user called Lucie Stepney asked: “How do people get washing dry without a tumble dryer in the winter?!

“We have so much washing but getting it dry is such a problem!”

Lucie’s post was inundated with responses but the most common suggestion was to use a dehumidifier.

Amanda Hayes-Egerton replied: “I use a normal clothes airer with a dehumidifier, it dries faster than my tumble dryer.”

Claudia Marcarella said: “I just bought a dehumidifier and it’s great, money well spent.”
