Prior to his slump, the American had gone on a rampage through the division claiming 12 straight victories over the likes of Donald Cerrone, Anthony Pettis, Kevin Lee and Edson Barbosa.
Dariush will face the toughest test of his MMA career against Ferguson, but is most definitely the more in-form fighter having won six consecutive bouts.
The Iranian, currently ranked ninth in the UFC lightweight standings, has beaten Diego Ferreira, Drew Drober, Rashid Magomedov, James Vick, Michael Johnson and James Miller during his exciting run dating back to November 2018.

Elsewhere on the card, middleweight contenders Jack Hermansson and Edmen Shahbazyan as both look to bounce back from recent losses.
Edson Barboza is also entering the octagon on May 15 against Shane Burgos after recently signing a new UFC contract.
