    Waterways in the Whitsundays will be CLOSED for three days as George Clooney and Julia Roberts film romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise


    Julia Roberts and George Clooney are set to begin shooting romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise in the Whitsundays.

    And mariners have been warned waterways near the island will be closed for three days while the Hollywood movie is being filmed.

    An exclusion zone has been established between Cid Island and Whitsunday Island from Tuesday, November 9, until Friday, November 12.

    Unauthorised vessels will be prohibited from anchoring, berthing, mooring or operating within the exclusion zone.

    The shoot is scheduled for two months from mid-November, with additional locations in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

    The project received a $6.4million grant from the federal government’s Location Incentive Program.

    George and Julia play a divorced couple who travel to Bali in a desperate bid to stop their daughter, played by Kaitlyn Dever, from getting married.

    The movie will be filmed entirely in Queensland, with the picturesque Whitsundays doubling for Bali.

    George and Julie completed their mandatory 14-day quarantine in Sydney last week.

    The actress spent two weeks at a $56.9million mansion in Vaucluse, one of Sydney’s most exclusive suburbs.

    They both left Sydney separately on private flights the same day. 

    Lucas Bravo also recently completed his 14-day quarantine before jetting off to film the movie in the Sunshine State.
