Mr Farage told his supporters: “There you have it, the absolute farce, the circus continues.
“We have had four Chancellors in four months, three Home Secretaries in seven weeks and now we will have a third Prime Minister as Liz Truss goes after 44 days – that is the shortest ever in British political history.
“It will be decided as a stitch-up by Conservative MPs I can tell you the result already – it will be a globalist, it will be a Remainer it will be a big state high taxer.
“The Conservative Party as we have known it in our lifetimes is now dead.”
“Of that, I have got absolutely no doubt at all.
“On a human level I, of course, feel a bit sorry for Liz Truss she was at least trying to do the right thing but the problem was frankly she wasn’t up to it and the execution was poor.
“But she was trying to reverse declinism, trying to reduce the size of the state, trying to put more money back in people’s pockets, and I respect her for at least having a go.
“Her successor will be a globalist, such look at it.”
Ms Truss announced her resignation outside Downing Street on Thursday telling the nation she had told the King she was quitting as the Prime Minister.
The reason Ms Truss gave was that she was unable to “deliver the mandate” that Tory members gave her only six weeks ago.
A Conservative leadership contest will decide Ms Truss’ successor with the contest “to be completed within the next week”.
“This will ensure that we remain on a path to deliver our fiscal plan and maintain our country’s economic stability and national security,” said Ms Truss.
