Man Utd boss Ten Hag risks upsetting two players as Paul Scholes raises concerns

Scholes and fellow pundit Owen Hargreaves were enthused about starlet Garnacho starting another game in Europe. The 18-year-old impressed against FC Sheriff and due to the injuries of Antony, Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho has been given another opportunity in the first team.

“He [Ten Hag] obviously thinks highly of him and that was evident from last week,” Scholes said. “We didn’t know a lot about him until last week. He was so confident, so impressive and there are not many wide players that can beat defenders on either side. He is confident of going down the left or down the right, he looks like he has got a goal and an assist in him. This lad is a real talent.”

Former United midfielder Hargreaves highlighted the important role Garnacho’s emergence has played. “He gave us a lot of confidence, and I think young guys have never really failed,” Hargreaves added. “He has got into the team and they want to grab that moment, and I am hopeful he can do that again tonight. Ronaldo will get the goals and hopefully Garnacho sets him up.”
