Alex Jones marvels at baby Annie's thick head of hair

Alex Jones has marveled at her newborn daughter’s prematurely thick head hair as she continues to make the most of maternity leave following the birth of her third child. 

The One Show presenter welcomed baby Annie with husband Charlie Thomson in August, and has since been treating Instagram followers with updates on their youngest child. 

Taking to the social media platform on Monday, Alex, 44, played her daughter’s surprisingly dense head of hair for laughs while posting another selfie.

Sharing an image of herself cradling the newborn, she commented: ‘Looks like I have my own little baby chimpanzee.’ 

The presenter posted her update shortly before taking advantage of the current heatwave by venturing out with husband Charlie and their children for an al-fresco lunch. 

Making an appearance at London’s Pub In The Park event later that day, Alex admitted the outing had been dominated by her youngest child, adding: ‘Feels like I’ve fed Annie for approx 20 hours today. She’s insatiable.’

The presenter finally announced the name of her baby daughter while breastfeeding live on Wednesday’s episode of The One Show.

Alex gave birth to Annie at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital in London and documented the experience for her followers on Instagram.

In the footage, Alex appeared to have been planning a water birth, as shared a clip of her husband trying to play some soothing music while stood next to a birthing pool.

Appreciating her other half’s efforts, she quipped: ‘The importance of a good birthing partner’.

However, Alex revealed that it took a while for labour to get going as she shared a hilarious snap of Charlie sleeping next to the pool.

She posted: ‘But even he got a bit bored as we waited for contractions. Reminded him later of how many babies have probably been born on that beanbag’.

Alex also raises sons Teddy, four, and Kit, two, with her insurance broker husband.
